What are the main sources of protein?
The protein is mainly found in animal foods that we consume: eggs, meat, fish, dairy products, as well as legumes and plants such as nuts, some cereals such as quinoa, oats, etc. Proteins of vegetable origin must be supplemented so that they have all the essential amino acids that our body needs. As an example, if we mix 1 cereal (rice) + 1 legume (lentils) we can form a protein of high biological value, but with a higher carbohydrate content. Proteins of animal origin are not necessary to combine as they are high value proteins. Then it is recommended that you always include a portion of protein in your main meals, as it will help meet daily nutrient requirements, have a greater satiety and be able to keep our muscle mass as marked as we want.
